Target
groups for NMDFC with regard to direct benefits will be persons
belonging to minority communities and living below double the poverty
line. At present, minority communities as per National Minorities
Commission Act, 1992 are Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians and
Parsis. Families having annual income less than Rs.40,000 in rural
areas and Rs.55,000 in urban areas are categorized as below double
the poverty line. |

authorised share capital of NMDFC is Rs.500 crores with 60% (300
crores) contribution from Central Government, 26% (130 crores) contribution

having interest in minorities. The paid up share capital of NMDFC
as on June 2003 is Rs.288.82 crores with contribution of Rs.241.26
crores by Government of India and Rs.49.66 crores by State/UT Governments. |
